The Snoring Dog's Waltz was inspired by my dog Spike who often laid down in the living room and proceeded to snore.

This tune might come as a surprise to those who have become familiar with my jazz writing. My interest in traditional music is sometimes reflected in originals that blend jazz and fiddle music such as October Joy and New Market. However, The Snoring Dog's Waltz is one that is entirely in a roots music style.
